MISSION

Presidio Environmental strives for continuous environmental improvement by promoting  reduce, reuse, recycle and upcycle technologies and methods whenever possible in our developments.  We stringently adhere to all environmental laws and regulations and are committed to implementing environmental projects by providing social, economic and environmental benefits to communities across America.


Our goal is to enhance local economies by fostering partnerships throughout communities.  Our methodology involves extensive community outreach, including hands-on communication and interaction with area businesses, community groups and neighbors.

Collectively, the Presidio Environmental team brings over 80 years of industry-related experience to our projects.

Tom Dunne, Jr.

Tom Dunne spent a majority of his working career in the construction/landfill business. He started with Fred Weber, Inc. (FWI) in the mid-’80s doing “heavy and highway” construction. He worked a variety of positions at FWI through the ’90s and became Vice President of the company in 2000.  While at FWI, Tom went on to manage one of the largest and most successful waste repositories in the United States. He successfully permitted an expansion of the facility in the early 2000s along with permitting three transfer stations in the St. Louis Metro area. Over the years, Tom has served on many boards in Missouri, including the Solid Waste Advisory Board and the Advisory Board of Enterprise Bank. Tom is a graduate of Texas Christian University.

Derrick Standley

Derrick Standley has worked in the waste facility and engineering sector for 30 years. He is a former principal of Genesis Solid Waste Group, Inc., and the former Vice President of National Landfill Operations and Engineering for WCA Waste Corporation.

Derrick has successfully led many efforts to obtain waste disposal/transfer/recovery facility permits. He has also obtained expansion permits at numerous landfills and transfer stations.  Additionally, he has obtained numerous axillary permits at various facilities for gas recovery systems, leachate management systems and various modifications.  His record of obtaining permits is unparalleled in the environmental industry. 

Derrick has participated in or led a number legislative efforts related to solid waste management at the local and state levels in several states. He is a graduate of Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri and a veteran of the United States Army.

Kevin O’Brien

Kevin O’Brien has 33 years of experience in the solid waste industry.  From 2000 to 2018, he served as Regional Vice President of WCA Waste Corporation (WCA).  His responsibilities with WCA included managing several municipal solid waste landfills, transfer stations, hauling companies and a Material Recovery Facility.  Prior to WCA, Kevin held positions for Waste Management, Inc. from Division Manager to Area Manager for several of Waste Management’s landfills and hauling companies in the Midwest from 1986 to August 2000. 

During Kevin’s tenure, he has been involved with numerous local community projects including waste planning, waste reduction and education programs. In 2014, the Missouri Waste Control Coalition recognized Kevin for his exemplary environmental leadership and accomplishments in environmental protection by awarding him the Life Time Achievement Award.  Kevin has extensive knowledge and experience in design, permitting, constructing and operating solid waste disposal facilities.  Kevin served as chairperson for the Missouri Chapter of the National Waste and Recycling Association from 2008 to 2018. During his tenure, Kevin successfully lead several major legislative initiatives. 

Robert E. Hermanson

Beginning his career in Public Accounting, Robb Hermanson became Principal, Director and Chief Financial Officer of a privately-held financial software and data company in which he oversaw the development of global operations.  During his tenure, the company became the second-largest global provider of financial data.  Following the successful sale of the company,  Robb launched a private investment fund which averaged 24% yearly returns.  Since then, he acted as General Contractor for four personal residences.  As well as charitable boards, he has served on an Advisory Board of Enterprise Bank & Trust and is now a member of their President’s Council.
